Heather is a Board Certified Music Therapist who has completed her training at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College located in Indiana. She turned her focus to music therapy after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Carthage College, Wisconsin and seeing the difference in her students through music. Heather then returned to Saint Mary-of-the Woods in 2018 to complete her Master of Arts in Music Therapy and completed her degree in December 2020. 

 

Heather is a firm believer that music is a powerful tool that facilitates family bonding and is easily individualized for each person’s unique needs. This led her to completing her graduate project to create a community program to promote bonding for families who experience life with a loved one who has been diagnosed with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. The importance of bonding has led her to study the Sound Birthing Method™ with Dr. Mary DiCamillo to promote bonding to start with families even before birth.
