What is Music Therapy?
According to the American Music Therapy Association, music therapy is the evidence-based, clinical use of music interventions used in a therapeutic relationship to reach a non-musical goal.
Who provides Music Therapy services?
Music therapy is a service that is provided only by a board-certified professional who has completed an accredited music therapy program and has been certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
What are the benefits of Music Therapy?
Music therapy is used to address goals that are individualized in communication, social, cognitive, emotional, physical, sensory, and spirtitual domains to meet a person's needs.
Who benefits from Music Therapy?
You don't have to have music skills to benefit from music therapy. Your board certified music therapist will do an assessment to see if music therapy is a good fit.
